For the majority of my life I have lived in London. I was born in Surrey, attended schools in north London and Hertfordshire, went to university in London and been resident there long-term. I love London, and have struggled to stay away on the occasions when I have tried to live elsewhere in the past. However, my family and I have always had strong connections with the west, too, in Herefordshire, which is beautiful and truly rural. 

 

Earlier this month, I finally made what I think may be a more long-term move to Malvern, on the border of Worcestershire and Herefordshire, though I will always keep London in my life, too. Here follows, my diary of ...

autumn 2025!!!

21st November - Big Catch Up

It's 21st November and my last post was on 5th November! Good gracious. November has almost just "come and gone" and it's felt like an instant. I'm a little sad that I haven't documented more frequently these past 2 weeks and 2 days, but it has been busy. ENTER NOVEMBER ...

So November has arrived. Although the year of course has gone in a flash, as usual, October got so deep and autumnal so quickly this year, and the autumn developed atmospherically, by the end of it I was sort of surprised that it was still October. It is a 31-day month, and sometimes you do rather notice that extra day or two.

OCTOBER UPDATE ... BEFORE NOVEMBER ARRIVES!

It's Halloween ... and, well, to be honest, as a Christian i have laid this festival down to a large degree. However, it's still an opportunity to look into/draw attention to certain topics ... and I still like a bit of gothic study! Earlier today I was doing History Club, looking into the 30 years' war in Europe (1618-1648) - and this naturally incorporated the Habsburgs - and so there was a chance to talk about Dracula!!

SEPTEMBER SUMMARY: LONDON TO HEREFORDSHIRE

On 19th September I moved out of my little Pied a Tere in Islington, which was a little teary, actually. I've rarely cried on leaving a place in my adult life, but my little pad was the happiest home I've had in London, so I was genuinely upset to have to leave.

OCTOBER 2025

My life has recently taken a turn that could certainly be referred to as an "Escape to the Country"! However, I have still been commuting to London every week or so. Therefore, it really is the best of both at the moment, in the beautiful season of Autumn.
