So November has arrived. Although the year of course has gone in a flash, as usual, October got so deep and autumnal so quickly this year, and the autumn developed atmospherically, by the end of it I was sort of surprised that it was still October. It is a 31-day month, and sometimes you do rather notice that extra day or two.
Having expected to spend the first weekend of November in Malvern, work called and whilst indeed I woke here on Saturday 1st, I went to sleep in London, at the Rising Sun pub where I worked on Saturday night, and then on Sunday. The shifts were remarkably quiet - but Haloween on Friday and firework displays elsewhere in town may have explained this.
I must say, Regent's Park is looking especially splendid. This year, in general, I'm impressed with the amount of red trees I've been seeing, as some years it feels more just yellow and brown everywhere.
Having found last weekend (25th/26th October) a little rough with the shifts in London only 3 days into my move to Malvern, this weekend felt less abrasive all around, and this week I have a little more time to settle in, so overall I'm of the position now that the new schedule, shared between here and London, is working out and I'm happy. I'll always be a bit of a London girl but I do love the peace of the countryside too.
