WRITING & OTHER THINGS
For all of my life, I have had a passion for creative writing. It was my favourite subject at school and remains so to this day. I have not done nearly enough as I would like professionally, but I am still trying. Never give up!
Other passions including cooking, travelling and history, so this page is to introduce and showcase some of my creative pursuits.
Current writing projects include a biography of my grandmother's life, a celebratory food & wine recipe book, Christian fantasy and short stories. I have a long list though!
WRITING: JERUSALEM GIRL
My maternal grandmother was born in Berlin in 1927, to a Jewish father and Gentile mother.
They escaped the Nazi regime to the Holy Land in the 1930s and there my grandmother built her future.
She married an Anglo-Welsh vicar who was practising in Jerusalem, and together they were present for nothing short of what we would call "moments in history."
Her life story is fascinating, as much for her Christian character as for the momentus times through which she lived and the events she saw.
She remains an inspiration to me and am enjoying writing her story!

FOOD & WINE CELEBRATION BOOK: 36 DINNER PARTY IDEAS
One of my great passions is cooking, and another is wine!
I especially enjoy cooking for an occasion and choosing the perfect wine pairings ... and love making meals with themes ... whether that's Narnia "Beaver's Supper," "Middle Eastern Winter Supper" or "November Party Night" ... and Christmas, Easter, Medieval Hog Roast, Gothic ... you name it! For each month of the year I've selected 3 ideas for "spreads" or multi-courses, with drink pairing suggestions. Some are my own recipes, others modelled on recipes I've researched - the idea is it's more a book of suggestions rather than an authentic recipe book.
It's taking a while to compile as one needs to find the right night to make these dishes - and then somehow eat them as well ... so I may be doing some generally food & wine blogging anyway before the final work is complete - so do keep your eye out for my food & wine posts and be inspired!

Above: A romance-themed dish. Truffle parmesan tagliatelle - the creamy white wine/parmesan/truffle sauce also has a magic touch "scooping gorgonzola". Top with pancetta and rosemary, serve with Chablis. Month: still deciding!

Brexit, A Gothic Novella
Back in 2016, I was an ardent Remainer during the referendum on Britain's EU membership. So much so that around the time Boris Johnson was pushing for the actual execution of Brexit through parliament, I wrote this crazy little story. However, truth be told, since this time and especially since coming properly to faith in recent years, my political views have changed. A sequel may eventually appear.
